Qatari and Turkish Foreign Ministers Reiterate Call to Lift Sanctions on Syria

Doha, SANA-Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani welcomed the steps taken by the new Syrian government in restructuring the Syrian state and establishing consensus among all parties, paving the way for consolidating civil peace, security and stability.

During a press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Doha, the Qatari minister said: “Doha continues to coordinate with all brotherly countries to support peace and reconstruction efforts in Syria, in accordance with the interests of its people and to achieve their aspirations.”

Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman stressed the need to lift the sanctions imposed on Syria to achieve economic and social stability in the country.

For his part, Fidan reiterated the need to lift the sanctions imposed on the Syrian people to achieve security and stability in the country, which would have a positive impact on regional peace.
