Syria, UNICEF discuss the situation of education in Syria after liberation

Damascus, SANA- Syria and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) discussed on Sunday the situation of education in Syria after liberation.

That came during a meeting between Education Minister, Nazir Mohammad al-Qadri, and Deputy Executive Director of Humanitarian Action and Supply Operations for UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

The meeting comes as a part of the ongoing efforts to uplift the level of education in Syria and meet the needs of children and students after liberation.

During the meeting, minister al-Qadri made a comprehensive presentation on the damage to schools and educational infrastructure and challenges facing the ministry in rehabilitating these institutions, in addition to statistics on the number of affected students.

Both sides underlined the necessity to develop effective strategies to return these students to schools and ensure they receive quality education, as well as support teachers and educational staff.

The meeting concluded by underscoring the importance of enhancing collaboration between UNICEF and the ministry, with focusing on comprehensive development of children and the positive impact on their future.
