Damascus, June 22 (SANA) Two people were killed and 30 others injured in traffic accidents and fires across Syria over the past 24 hours, the Civil Defense said Monday.
According to a statement posted on the Civil Defense’s Telegram channel, one person was killed and 24 others injured in 21 traffic accidents recorded across the country.
The Civil Defense renewed its call for drivers to reduce speed, inspect the technical condition of their vehicles, including brakes and windshield wipers, and avoid distractions such as using mobile phones while driving.
Separately, one person died from suffocation and six others were injured in 176 fire incidents. The fires included 16 outbreaks in agricultural fields and crops and 160 others in homes, shops, dry grass, trees, garbage and electrical wiring.
Firefighting teams extinguished the blazes and carried out cooling operations to prevent reignition, the statement said.
On Saturday, the Civil Defense said 13 people were injured in traffic accidents and fires across the country, with emergency teams responding to all reported incidents.
