Daraa, June 8 (SANA) Israeli occupation forces, backed by tanks and military vehicles, advanced into the village of Maariya in western Daraa countryside near the Yarmouk Basin in southwestern Syria on Monday.
SANA’s reporter in Daraa said the forces moved toward residential areas of the village, causing concern among residents. Israeli soldiers also reportedly opened fire on nearby agricultural fields.
This incident is the latest in a series of Israeli military incursions into southern Syria, which violate the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
Israeli occupation forces have carried out repeated violations in the area, including raids, arrests and land-clearing activities.
Syria has repeatedly called for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from its territory, stressing that all measures taken by Israel in southern Syria are illegal under international law. Syria has also urged the international community to take action to halt the ongoing violations and ensure a full Israeli withdrawal from the region.
