Geneva, June 4 (SANA) Syrian Minister of Social Affairs and Labour Hind Kabawat discussed with officials from Qatar’s Ministry of Labour ways to enhance joint cooperation in social affairs and support Syria’s economic recovery efforts, on the sidelines of the International Labour Conference in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour said in a statement posted on its Telegram channel on Thursday that the two sides discussed strengthening cooperation in the fields of employment, vocational training and development.
The discussions also addressed the possibility of preparing a memorandum of understanding to exchange expertise and develop the labour market in Syria, in a way that supports sustainable development and provides decent job opportunities.
Kabawat is participating in the 114th Session of the International Labour Conference, which opened in Geneva last Monday with the participation of 187 member states of the International Labour Organization.
On the sidelines of the conference, Kabawat held a series of bilateral meetings with her counterparts from Turkey, Lebanon, Sudan and Kenya, focusing on enhancing cooperation in the fields of labour and social protection.
