Damascus, May 2 (SANA)    Syrian Minister of Endowments Mohammed Abu al-Khair Shukri met Italian Ambassador to Syria Stefano Ravagnan on Saturday to discuss strengthening bilateral relations, with a focus on religious and humanitarian cooperation.

The Ministry of Endowments said in a statement on its Telegram channel that the meeting focused on promoting coexistence and social peace among all components of Syrian society, as well as highlighting the country’s cultural diversity.

Shukri welcomed efforts to promote values of moderation and support a balanced and inclusive religious discourse. He referred to the impact of the “Unity of Islamic Discourse” conference held in Damascus and highlighted the ministry’s role in promoting coexistence, social cohesion, and constructive engagement within society.

Ravagnan praised the role of Syrian institutions in strengthening national cohesion and social stability, reaffirming Italy’s commitment to enhancing bilateral relations, expanding cooperation, and supporting initiatives across various fields.

The meeting is part of ongoing efforts by the ministry to strengthen Syria’s international relations. In February, Shukri held talks with UK Special Representative for Syria Ann Snow and UK Humanitarian Adviser Erlend Linklater, focusing on social stability and the reconstruction of Syrian society.
