Antalya, April 19 (SANA) Syria’s Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor and Türkiye’s Ministry of Family and Social Services signed a memorandum of understanding on Saturday to strengthen cooperation and develop joint initiatives in family welfare and social services.
The agreement was signed in the southern Turkish city of Antalya by Syrian Minister Hind Kabawat and her Turkish counterpart Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş.
The memorandum reflects a shared focus on supporting families, women, children, persons with disabilities and the elderly, which both sides described as key to social and economic development.
Under the agreement, the two sides will cooperate on joint projects, exchange expertise and best practices, and work to improve social services and assistance programs. The deal also aims to promote the integration of persons with disabilities and older people into society.
The memorandum takes effect upon signing and will remain valid for three years, with automatic one-year renewals unless terminated by either side with prior notice. Ongoing projects will continue until completion.
Kabawat also took part in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum on Friday, where she joined a panel discussion on Syria’s path toward stability.
