Damascus, Mar.27 (SANA) – The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) affirmed that its field teams are continuing their comprehensive humanitarian response operations in Hasakah and Raqqa governorates, following the floods and torrential rains that began on March 17.
In a statement to SANA on Thursday, the organization said that it has evacuated a number of families from severely affected areas in Hasakah and Raqqa governorates to safer locations.
The statement added that SARC teams are providing on-the-ground assistance in the neighborhoods of Hasakah city and Qamishli, as well as the Talaee and Tuwaina camps, in ongoing coordination with Hasakah Governorate.
The organization indicated that it is still working on assessing the damage on the ground, as it has provided urgent assistance to more than 500 affected families, including (blankets, food and health baskets, and solar chargers), in parallel with carrying out rescue and evacuation operations from homes and camps that were flooded with water and transporting the injured and the most vulnerable groups to medical facilities.
