Damascus, Mar.15 (SANA) Revolution coordination groups in Damascus staged a commemorative procession on Sunday to commemorate the anniversary of the first demonstration that took place in the Syrian capital on March 15, 2011, which marked the spark of the popular uprising against the practices of the ousted regime.
The march set off from the entrance of al-Hamidiyeh Market, with participants heading toward the square adjacent to the Umayyad Mosque, where they performed a prayer in absentia for the souls of the revolution’s martyrs.
Participants also chanted slogans from the early days of the demonstrations against the ousted regime, most notably the chant “The people want the bring down of the regime,” which was realized with the announcement of liberation on December 8, 2024.
Syrians are preparing getting ready to mark next Wednesday, March 18, the 15th anniversary of the eruption of the Syrian revolution, which culminated in the overthrow of the ousted regime on December 8, 2024.
