Aleppo, March 6 (SANA) Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed al-Saleh said specialized technical teams have been dispatched to the site of the collapsed residential building in Aleppo’s al-Ashrafiyah neighborhood to accelerate rescue efforts for those trapped under the rubble.
Al-Saleh said in a post on the social media platform X on Friday that civil defense teams are clearing debris and creating safe passages to reach those trapped, with initial reports indicating that families may still be under the rubble.
He added that specialized technical teams, search-and-rescue units with trained dogs, and heavy machinery have been deployed to support debris removal and expedite access to the trapped residents. Nearby buildings are being evacuated as a precaution to ensure civilian safety.
Earlier, SANA’s reporter in Aleppo said that a five-story residential building collapsed in al-Ashrafiyah neighborhood of Aleppo, leaving residents trapped under the rubble.
Civil defense teams rushed to the scene to search for and rescue those affected. No information is available on the number of people inside the building at the time of the collapse.
