Damascus, Feb. 23 (SANA) Mazen Alloush, Director of Local and International Relations at the Syrian General Authority for Ports and Customs, held a consultative meeting on Monday with the British Special Envoy to Syria, Ann Snow, and her accompanying delegation. The discussions focused on the operational status of the Authority and the established mechanisms governing the nation’s border crossings.
According to a statement released by the Authority via Telegram, the two sides reviewed the comprehensive procedures and facilities implemented by state institutions to support the voluntary return of Syrian refugees.
The dialogue further addressed mechanisms to facilitate the seamless flow of relief and humanitarian aid through various ports and crossings. Both parties underscored the importance of ensuring the efficient delivery of assistance to designated beneficiaries, strictly adhering to the sovereign legal and procedural frameworks of the Syrian state, in alignment with international humanitarian standards.
During the meeting, Alloush noted the Authority’s commitment to adopting simplified, transparent procedures that meet the requirements of the current transitional phase and serve the supreme national interest.
For her part, Envoy Ann Snow expressed her appreciation for the professional efforts exerted by the Syrian General Authority for Ports and Customs. She stressed the importance of continued high-level dialogue and coordination on humanitarian and service-related issues to support national recovery efforts and improve living conditions for the Syrian people.
