Hasakah, Feb.21 (SANA) The General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport has assumed responsibility for the management of Qamishli Airport as part of the implementation of the agreement concluded between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
In a statement published on its Telegram channel on Saturday, the Authority said that several department directors conducted a field visit to the airport, during which they assessed the operational, technical, and administrative conditions, and discussed mechanisms for resuming operations in accordance with the highest internationally approved standards in the field of civil aviation.
Earlier this month, a delegation from the Syrian Ministry of Interior, represented by the Head of Internal Security in Hasakah governorate and the Director of the Airports and Border Crossings Security Department, held a meeting with the SDF to discuss the handover of Qamishli Airport’s management.
