Lattakia, Jan. 16 (SANA) Syria’s Interior Ministry on Friday handed over a fleet of modern vehicles to police units in Latakia province, as part of a nationwide plan to upgrade the logistical and technical capacity of internal security forces.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials, including Deputy Minister of Interior for Police Affairs Maj. Gen. Ahmad Latouf, Deputy Minister for Administrative and Financial Affairs Brig. Gen. Bassam Al‑Mansour, Lattakia Governor Mohammad Othman, and provincial security chief Brig. Gen. Abdulaziz Al‑Ahmad.
According to the ministry, the new vehicles will serve multiple divisions, including traffic police, internal security, highway patrol, criminal investigations, diplomatic protection, and tourism police.
Brig. Gen. Al‑Ahmad said the delivery represents the first batch of modern vehicles under a broader plan to modernize infrastructure and improve working conditions for security forces. He noted that the new fleet reflects the ministry’s updated visual identity and commitment to professionalism, efficiency, and public trust.
The Interior Ministry emphasized that the move is part of efforts to strengthen readiness across provinces and align with modern security standards. Earlier this month, a similar fleet was delivered to police units in Aleppo to boost operational capacity and response times.
