Tourists from Western countries visit Bosra al-Sham, Daraa

Daraa, SANA – Groups of tourists from the United States, Britain, and Canada visited the ancient city of Bosra al-Sham, where 48 tourists explored its most prominent historical and religious landmarks in a cultural tour that included sites dating back thousands of years.

A tourist told a SANA reporter that the city transports visitors to worlds steeped in history, praising its architectural beauty. He also expressed his admiration for the Omari Mosque and noted the ingenuity of ancient civilizations in designing the citadel, the theater, and the church.

Bosra al-Sham contains more than 46 archaeological sites and has been registered on the World Heritage list since 1982. Historically, it is known as the city that hosted the first copy of the Holy Quran in the Levant, and it is located 142 kilometers south of Damascus.
