Evangelical Community in Syria and Lebanon condemns terrorist attack on Mar Elias Church in Damascus

Beirut, SANA-Rev. Joseph Kassab, President of the Evangelical Community in Syria and Lebanon, has condemned the terrorist bombing that targeted Mar Elias Church in Dweilaa district of Damascus on Sunday.

In a statement issued Monday, Kassab said: “What took place is more than an attack on a church or a component of the nation—it is a crime against humanity and against the entire homeland. We categorically reject and condemn this injustice and appeal to the Syrian state, with all its institutions, to protect innocent civilians, safeguard places of worship, and confront terrorism in all its forms.”

Kassab also extended his heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families and wished a swift recovery for the wounded.
