Syria, Jordan Discuss transport and transit Cooperation

Damascus, SANA- Transport Minister Dr. Yarub Badr discussed Tuesday with a Jordanian delegation of Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, enhancing transport cooperation between the two countries and facilitating the transit of Jordanian goods and exports through Syria.

During the meeting with the delegation headed by the President of the Chambers, Fathi Jaghbir, the minister stressed the importance of the economic partnership between Syria and Jordan and expressed Syria’s readiness to overcome obstacles facing freight and transit traffic and enhance regional economic integration.

Al-Jaghbir praised Syria’s efforts to revitalize transport roads and trade cooperation, stressing that Jordanian industrialists are looking forward to strengthening cooperation with Syria in the fields of land and rail transport, given its positive impact on Jordanian products in regional markets.

The meeting dealt also with facilitating transit procedures at border crossing and updating bilateral transport agreements.
