Cairo, SANA-Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit condemned the repeated Israeli attacks on Syrian territory and Israel’s blatant efforts to fuel strife and conflict in Syria.
The Arab League website quoted Aboul Gheit as saying in his speech today during the 163rd regular session of the League’s Council at the ministerial level in Cairo: “It is imperative to stop the war of extermination waged by the Israeli occupation against the Gaza Strip,”.
Aboul Gheit also condemned Israel’s ongoing attacks on Lebanon and its repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement, explaining that Israel seeks to impose a new reality on the region of tension, ongoing raids, and buffer zones that encroach on the sovereignty of Arab countries and seize their lands under false pretexts.
He called on the world to pressure the Israeli occupation to withdraw from Arab territories.
