Turkey's UN envoy calls on Security Council to act decisively against Israel's expansionist actions in Syria

New York, SANA-Turkey’s permanent envoy to the United Nations, Ambassador Ahmet Yildiz, called on UN Security Council to take immediate and decisive action against Israel’s expansionist and destabilizing actions in Syria.

“We condemn the ongoing Israeli military incursion into Syrian territory, and we call on the Security Council to take immediate and decisive action against Israel’s expansionist and destabilizing actions,” Anadolu Agency quoted Ambassador Yildiz as saying during the UN Security Council session on chemical weapons in Syria on Friday, noting that these actions constitute obstacles to the stability of the situation in Syria.

On the other hand, Yildiz expressed satisfaction with Syria’s cooperation with the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons to completely eliminate chemical weapons from the region, indicating that this position taken by the Syrian government represents once again a historic opportunity to close the chemical weapons file for everyone.
