President Aliyev congratulates President al-Sharaa on assuming Presidency of the Republic

President Aliyev congratulates President al-Sharaa on assuming Presidency of the Republic

Damascus, SANA-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, sent a letter of congratulation to President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Mr. Ahmad Al-Sharaa, on assuming presidency of the Republic.

The Azerbaijan News Agency said President Aliyev expressed in the letter his wishes for President Al-Sharaa to succeed in achieving prosperity the Syrian people, and for peace and security to the friendly Syrian people.

President Aliyev stressed that his country attaches great importance to developing friendly relations and cooperation with Syria, and is ready to provide the necessary support and assistance to it during this important transitional period.

“There are possibilities to raise Azerbaijani-Syrian relations to a remarkably new level and enrich cooperation between them,” President Aliyev said, extending an invitation to President Al-Sharaa to visit Azerbaijan.
