Macron: All countries are ready to support Syria, and we are working to lift sanctions on it

Paris, SANA- French President Emmanuel Macron said on Thursday that all countries are ready to support the new Syria and stressed the need to lift sanctions quickly in order to revive the economy.

“We are ready to provide any help to Syria because its stability is important because it is about its future, its sovereignty, and the future of its people, in addition to the future of all the countries of the region and our future, and I will soon receive President Ahmed al-Sharaa in France to continue these deliberations,” Macron said in a speech delivered Thursday during the Paris conference on Syria.

Macron pointed out that the challenge facing Syria today is to establish a comprehensive system of government that respects everyone, and France will help achieve this and maintain security, in addition to the fact that this will contribute to establishing stability in the region.

French President stressed the need to secure favorable conditions for the return of Syrian refugees, so that they can participate in the transitional process and the renaissance of their country.

He said that the humanitarian and economic situation constituted another challenge for Syria after decades of war, noting that France demanded the rapid lifting of European sanctions to allow Syria to begin its economic renaissance.

“France has provided 50 million dollars for the humanitarian aid and to ensure stability in Syria,” Macron articulated adding that a delegation of French organizations will visit Syria soon to see the needs of the Syrian people.
