The Netherlands greets ceasefire in Sweida, calls all parties to abide by it

Amsterdam, SANA – Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp hailed the announcement the ceasefire agreement in Sweida, called on all parties to abide by it.

Veldkamp said in his X account today: “I welcome the ceasefire in Sweida, and the Netherlands urges all parties to abide by it, as this is also crucial for the delivery of needed humanitarian aid to the area.”

Veldkamp called for “an independent and transparent investigation into the crimes committed last week in Sweida,” adding that “all components of Syrian society deserve protection.”
