Barrack: The US is determined to achieve peace and prosperity in Syria

Washington, SANA- U.S. Special Envoy for Syria, Thomas Barrack, reiterated Sunday the US administration’s commitment to efforts of achieving peace and prosperity in Syria.

Commenting on the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ announcement about hosting a joint Jordanian-Syrian –American meeting to discuss ways to support the rebuilding of Syria, Barrack said in a post on ‘’X’’ platform, “This commitment underscores our collective determination to move toward a future in which Syria and all of its people can live in peace, security, and prosperity’’.

Jordanian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on X that a meeting on, Tuesday, will be attended by, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Asaad al-Shaibani, the American envoy Thomas Barrack, and representatives of the relevant institutions in Jordan, Syria, and the United States, in follow up of the talks hosted by Amman 19 July, to discuss consolidating the ceasefire in Sweida Governorate.
