Ottawa, June 21 (SANA) Germany qualified for the Round of 32 at the 2026 World Cup after a narrow 2–1 victory over Ivory Coast on Saturday at BMO Field in Toronto, Canada, in the second round of Group Five action.
Ivory Coast took the lead in the 30th minute through Frank Kessié, before Germany levelled in the 68th minute via Deniz Undav. Undav struck again in stoppage time (90+4) to complete a late comeback and secure all three points for the German side.
The result takes Germany to six points following their opening 7–1 win over Curaçao. Ivory Coast remain on three points in second place, pending the outcome of Ecuador’s match against Curaçao on Sunday morning.
