Kansas City, June 21 (SANA) Curaçao claimed the first World Cup point in its history after holding Ecuador to a 0–0 draw late Saturday in a Group E match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Coming into the game following a heavy 7–1 defeat to Germany in their opening match, Curaçao delivered a disciplined defensive performance, relying on organization and tactical structure to frustrate the South American side at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
Ecuador dominated possession and created several scoring chances but were unable to find the breakthrough, lacking precision in the final third against a resilient Curaçao defense.
The result leaves both sides on one point in Group E, with qualification still open ahead of the final round of group-stage matches.
