Homs, May 26 (SANA) Homs Al-Fidaa have completed the signing of French center Alioune Tew from UAE club Al Wahda as the team strengthens its roster ahead of the decisive second phase of the Syrian men’s basketball Final 6 competition.
The 208-centimeter center is expected to add strength and stability under the basket, with the club relying on his physical presence, defensive ability and rebounding skills to bolster the squad during the closing stages of the season.
Tew joins the Syrian side after an impressive spell with al Wahda in the United Arab Emirates, where he averaged 16.7 points and 17 rebounds per game.
He also recorded averages of 3.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.7 blocks while playing 36.6 minutes per match.
The French player posted a 55% overall shooting percentage from the field, including 56.4% on two-point attempts, highlighting his offensive efficiency and consistency inside the paint.
Al-Fidaa hope the signing will strengthen the team’s chances of competing strongly during the Final 6 stage of the Syrian league season.
