Madrid, May 24 (SANA) Real Madrid ended their La Liga campaign with a 4-2 victory over Athletic Bilbao on Saturday on the final matchday of the season, finishing second with 86 points.
Gonzalo García opened the scoring from a Dani Carvajal cross in the defender’s final appearance for the club before Jude Bellingham doubled Real’s lead in the 41st minute.
Gorka Guruzeta pulled one back for Bilbao in first-half stoppage time, but Kylian Mbappe restored Madrid’s two-goal advantage early in the second half.
Substitute Brahim Diaz added a fourth goal late in the match before Urko Izeta scored Bilbao’s second in stoppage time.
Fans and teammates also paid tribute to Austrian defender David Alaba following his final appearance for the club.
Elsewhere on the final day, champions Barcelona lost 3-1 to Valencia, Celta Vigo beat Sevilla 1-0, Real Betis defeated Levante 2-1, and Girona drew 1-1 with Elche.
