Damascus, May 2 (SANA) Homs al-Fidaa reignited the Syrian Premier League title race with a 1-0 victory over leaders Ahli Aleppo on Friday, narrowing the gap at the top to just one point.
Song Sanday scored the decisive goal at al- -Hamadaniah Stadium in Aleppo, lifting Homs al-Fidaa to 41 points, while Ahli Aleppo remain top with 42.
Elsewhere, Tishreen beat al-Fotuwa 2-0 in Latakia, al-Karamah beat Damascus al-Ahly by the same score in Homs, and al-Taliya secured a 1-0 win over Khan Sheikhoun. Omayya beat Jableh 2-0, while al-Shorta and Al-Jaish drew 1-1 in Damascus.
Round 19 concludes Saturday with al-Wahda facing Al-Hurriya, while Al-Shouleh vs Hutteen has been postponed.
