Beirut, Feb. 20 (SANA) Syrian side Al-Wehda overturned a 12-point halftime deficit to secure a 99–89 victory over Kazakhstan’s Astana in its eighth game of the West Asia Super League (WASL) on Thursday in Beirut.
Al-Wehda trailed 59–47 at the break after struggling defensively in the opening two quarters. However, it responded with a dominant second-half performance, tightening up defensively and finding greater offensive rhythm to outscore Astana over the final 20 minutes and seal a 10-point win.
The result marks an important rebound for Al-Wehda, which had fallen 105–92 to Lebanese club Sagesse SC in its previous WASL outing.
WASL, organized by FIBA, brings together top clubs from West and Central Asia, with teams competing for regional honors and qualification to continental tournaments.
