Muscat, Feb. 6 (SANA) – Syrian para powerlifter Noura Badour won a gold medal at the West Asian Para Games held in Muscat, Oman.
Badour secured the gold after lifting 83 kilograms in the 43 kg weight category, increasing Syria’s medal tally at the regional event.
The Syrian team also claimed two silver medals in athletics on Thursday: Bassam Sussaq in the shot put (F42 classification) and Wassim Rizek in the shot put (F55 classification).
In swimming, Walid al-Khass won gold in the 50-meter backstroke and bronze in the 50-meter freestyle. Nader Hamwi earned silver in the 50-meter freestyle, while Rami Qashqo secured bronze in the 50-meter freestyle and silver in the 50-meter backstroke, all within their respective classifications.
In table tennis, Abdulrazzaq al-Masri captured the gold medal after defeating an Omani player in the final of the standing category (T9 classification).
