Ankara, Aug. 3 (SANA) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call on Monday with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss the latest regional and international developments and efforts to end escalation in the region, according to a statement by Türkiye‘s Communications Directorate.
The two leaders discussed bilateral relations and ways to support and enhance them across all fields, as well as regional and global issues, the statement said.
Erdoğan condemns attacks on Saudi Arabia
President Erdoğan renewed his country’s condemnation of the recent attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, expressing Ankara’s solidarity and full support for Riyadh, while affirming that Türkiye is working to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region.
Gaza peace plan
Regarding the situation in Gaza, Erdoğan stressed the importance of Israel’s strict compliance with the roadmap for the second phase of the Gaza peace plan, noting that Türkiye is closely monitoring developments.
The talks come amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to contain regional tensions following President Trump’s decision to suspend a planned military strike on Iran.
Saudi-Turkish relations have witnessed intensive diplomatic engagement over the past two years, with high-level visits and agreements signed across investment, defense and energy.
Both sides are seeking common approaches to regional hot-button issues amid security and economic challenges posed by current crises in the Middle East and the Horn of Africa.
