Beijing, June 8 (SANA) China on Monday called for continued adherence to a ceasefire between Iran and Israel and urged all parties to pursue diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation in the region.

Speaking at a regular news briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said Beijing was deeply concerned by the latest developments and warned that renewed military exchanges would not serve the interests of any side.

“China hopes all relevant parties will honor their ceasefire commitments, maintain the momentum of ongoing negotiations and continue resolving differences through political and diplomatic channels,” Lin said.

He added that Beijing supports efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire as soon as possible.

China also advised its citizens in the region to exercise caution and follow local safety guidance amid ongoing tensions.

The comments came as Iran and Israel exchanged strikes, raising concerns about a broader regional confrontation and prompting renewed international calls for de-escalation.
