Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan

Dhaka, June 5 (SANA) Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Friday that Israel is expanding the scope of regional conflict through its military operations in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, warning that these actions undermine prospects for a two-state solution.

Speaking at a press conference in Dhaka with his Bangladeshi counterpart Khalilur Rahman, Fidan said the priority of the international community should be an immediate halt to the Israeli offensive in Gaza and an end to escalating tensions in the region, citing what he described as unlawful practices in the occupied territories.

He warned that growing instability is affecting regional balance, and called for a unified international stance to stop the war, while also referring to continued Israeli strikes in Lebanon.

Fidan also welcomed progress in U.S.–Iran talks and expressed support for mediation efforts, stressing the importance of safeguarding maritime security and global energy stability.

He underlined that ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and a return to conditions prior to the conflict between the United States, Israel and Iran are essential for the global economy and energy security.
