Damascus, May.28 (SANA) The Syrian Arab Republic on Thursday extended congratulations to the Republic of Azerbaijan on the occasion of its Independence Day.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement published on its Telegram channel on Thursday that “the Syrian Arab Republic extends its warmest congratulations to the friendly Republic of Azerbaijan, leadership and people, on the occasion of Independence Day”.
The Ministry expressed its wishes for Azerbaijan’s “continued security and stability”, reaffirmed its “commitment to enhancing cooperation and bilateral relations across various domains”.
Relations between Syria and Azerbaijan have witnessed noticeable progress in recent times, particularly in the energy sector, amid a shared orientation toward boosting economic and technical cooperation.
Syria began receiving natural gas from Azerbaijan on August 2 of last year via a pipeline passing through Turkish territory, under a cooperation agreement involving Syria, Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Qatar. The step reflects growing regional cooperation and supports efforts to rehabilitate Syria’s energy sector after years of challenges.
