Damascus, May 22 (SANA)    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the government and people of the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco over the victims of a residential building collapse in the city of Fez in northern Morocco.

In a statement issued on Friday, the ministry reaffirmed Syria’s full solidarity with Morocco and the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery for those injured in the incident.

Authorities in Morocco announced Thursday that a six‑story residential building in the city of Fez in northern Morocco had collapsed, killing 15 people and injuring five others.

The structure, housing 11 apartments in a densely populated neighborhood, fell without warning, prompting a prolonged rescue operation under hazardous conditions.

Officials evacuated nearby buildings over fears that two adjacent structures with visible cracks might also collapse.
