Deputy Turkish FM: We support the Syrian government in facing security challenges

Ankara , Jan.25 (SANA)Deputy Turkish Foreign Minister Musa Kulaklıkaya underlined his country’s full support for the Syrian government in its efforts to address security challenges and maintain stability in Syria.

In an interview with Al Jazeera on Sunday, Kulaklıkaya explained that Turkey has been closely monitoring developments in Syria’s security situation since December 8, noting that Syrian security is closely linked to Turkish security.

He stressed the importance of preserving Syria’s territorial integrity and rejecting any attempts to establish separatist entities.

Kulaklıkaya added that Turkey is cooperating with the Syrian government in several areas, including intelligence sharing and ongoing coordination in combating terrorist organizations.

He expressed Turkey’s support for the measures taken by President Ahmad al-Sharaa, particularly regarding Kurdish rights. He pointed out that Turkey is closely following the transfer of ISIS elements from SDF organization prisons, while warning against any attempts to bring members of the PKK into Syrian territory.

The Deputy Turkish Foreign Minister concluded by reaffirming Turkey’s firm stance in supporting the Syrian government in facing all challenges, emphasizing that the optimal solution to Syria’s security issues lies in preserving the country’s unity and pursuing reconstruction that encompasses all of its social components.
