Egypt and U.S. discuss latest developments in Syria

Cairo, Dec. 6 (SANA) Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with U.S. Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrak on Saturday on the sidelines of Doha Forum 2025 to review the latest developments in Syria.

According to a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the talks also addressed strengthening coordination to advance efforts toward de-escalation and stability in the region.

On Friday, Abdelatty reaffirmed during a phone call with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov Egypt’s consistent position on the need to respect Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
