Occupied Jerusalem/Gaza, July 5 (SANA)    Two Palestinians were killed in an Israeli drone strike in central Gaza City on Sunday, while in the West Bank, a 16-year-old was shot dead by Israeli forces in Qalandia refugee camp and a four-month-old infant died after being denied passage through a military checkpoint, Palestinian sources said.

Gaza strikes

In Gaza, a drone struck a gathering of Palestinians near Al-Samer junction in the center of Gaza City, killing two and injuring several others, according to local sources cited by the Palestinian news agency Wafa. The Civil Defense confirmed the strike occurred near a water distribution station in the Al-Samer area.

The incident marks the latest in a series of ceasefire violations since the October 2025 agreement. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, Israeli attacks have killed 1,066 people and injured 3,445 others since the ceasefire took effect. The overall death toll since October 2023 has risen to 73,090 killed and 173,553 injured.

West Bank: Teen killed at Qalandia camp

In Qalandia refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem, Israeli forces fatally shot 16-year-old Walid Nidal Abu Sneineh, the Palestinian Health Ministry said. Two other minors, both aged 14, sustained gunshot wounds to their lower limbs in the same incident.

Since the start of the Gaza war in October 2023, violence has escalated in the West Bank, which Israel has occupied since 1967. Israeli forces have killed at least 1,087 Palestinians in the West Bank since then, according to an AFP tally based on Palestinian Health Ministry data.

Infant dies after checkpoint denial

In a separate incident, a four-month-old Palestinian infant, Ahmad Ma’rouf Zaid, died after Israeli forces prevented his family from passing through a military checkpoint at the entrance of Deir Ammar village, west of Ramallah. The infant was on his way to receive medical treatment when soldiers blocked the family for more than an hour, according to Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governor Laila Ghannam. Soldiers reportedly fired tear gas at residents and vehicles while ignoring the infant’s critical condition.

The West Bank has seen intensified Israeli military raids, settler attacks and checkpoint restrictions, while Gaza remains under severe movement restrictions with Israeli forces occupying approximately 70% of the territory.
