DEA sustains its efforts to combat drug smuggling and trafficking

Damascus, SANA- Drug Enforcement Administration at Interior Ministry made continuous efforts to combat illegitimately drug smuggling and trafficking, in order to achieving stability in the country.

The efforts made by the Ministry during the month of January this year resulted in the seizure and destruction of large quantities of drugs, and the arrest of numerous consumers, promoters and traffickers of hashish and drugs.

The factories that were seized were distributed across several provinces, including Damascus and its countryside, Aleppo, Lattakia, Hama, Homs, and Daraa.

The Ministry estimated the number of narcotic pills prepared for export at about 100 million, which would have caused a great threat to public health and social security in many countries.
