Civil Defense: 1,500 Civilians admitted in Shelters of Daraa Countryside

Damascus, SANA-Syrian Civil Defense teams on Monday transferred nearly 1,500 civilians, the majority of them are women, children, and the elderly, of the families who had been trapped in Sweida, to shelters in Daraa countryside. The teams also took more than 10 injured people to hospitals for urgent medical care.

“Protecting civilians remains at the forefront of our national priorities in light of the difficult circumstances in Sweida province.” Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management, Raed al-Saleh, said on his X account, adding that the step comes within the framework of the humanitarian response, led by the Joint Operations Room launched by the Ministry of Emergency, in coordination with state ministries, service and humanitarian institutions.

In a statement to a SANA reporter, Director of Civil Defense in Daraa, Shadi al-Hassan said that more than 300 families had been received and secured, and the injured had been transferred to field hospitals for necessary medical care.
