Damascus, May 22 (SANA) The United States has launched detailed investor guides for Syria, describing the initiative as part of efforts to support responsible investment and reconnect the country with international economic networks.

In a post published on X on Friday, the U.S. Embassy in Damascus said Washington’s decision last year to lift sanctions and open the door to investment had already produced “notable results.”

A year ago, the United States decided to give Syria a chance at greatness by lifting sanctions and opening the door to investment. The results speak for themselves: 18,000+ companies registered in Damascus, 1.5 million refugees returned, and billions of dollars in investment… pic.twitter.com/ODCdp8FaC6

The embassy said more than 18,000 companies had been registered in Damascus, around 1.5 million refugees had returned, and investment pledges worth billions of dollars had been announced since the policy shift.

According to the embassy, the newly released guides represent the most comprehensive publicly available market intelligence reports on Syria, offering investors detailed assessments of key sectors and emerging opportunities.

The reports identify potential for investment in electricity, oil and gas, technology, telecommunications, real estate and banking.

The embassy added that American companies, given their technological expertise and advanced operational standards, are well positioned to help address critical gaps across those sectors.

It said the guides are intended to support transparent and resilient economic partnerships capable of contributing to long-term growth and stability.

The embassy also stressed that “With smart governance, regional cooperation, and responsible investment, opportunity can become reality.”
