Washington, July 18 (SANA) The U.S. military said Saturday that two American service members were killed and another is missing in Jordan while on duty on July 17, during operations in which U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and partner forces responded to Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks.
In a statement posted on X, CENTCOM said four U.S. service members were medically evacuated to hospitals in Jordan. It added that they were later discharged, while other personnel who received medical evaluations for minor injuries had returned to duty.
“Out of respect for the families, U.S. Central Command will not release additional information, including the identities of the deceased service members, until 24 hours after their next of kin have been notified,” the statement said.
Earlier, CENTCOM announced a new wave of air, ground, and naval strikes against targets in Iran, marking the seventh consecutive night of U.S. military operations.
