Occupied Jerusalem, June 23 (SANA) Israeli forces detained 12 Palestinians during raids across the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA.
The arrests took place during raids in Tulkarm, the town of Tuqu’, the areas of Abu Freihah and Hindaza, Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem, the town of Tammun in Tubas, al-Jib near Jerusalem and the village of Kafr Qalil near Nablus, WAFA reported.
In a separate incident, dozens of Israeli settlers stormed the archaeological site in Sebastia, northwest of Nablus, under the protection of Israeli forces.
Israeli troops also entered the city of Nablus and increased their presence around the Old City and the commercial market area.
Palestinian officials say Sebastia has been subjected to repeated incursions by settlers and Israeli forces, particularly in the archaeological zone, amid concerns over efforts to assert control over the historic site.
The latest raids came a day after two Palestinians, including a child, were killed and several others wounded in separate incidents involving Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank.
