Kuwait, June 16 (SANA) Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah held a phone call on Monday evening with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, to discuss the latest developments in the region.
In a statement published on platform X, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the two ministers reviewed recent regional developments and efforts being undertaken in response to them, with particular focus on an agreement regarding a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran.
According to the ministry, the memorandum provides for an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations, guarantees freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and addresses a number of other issues.
Washington and Tehran announced on Sunday that they had reached an agreement through Pakistani mediation to end military operations, reopen the Strait of Hormuz and lift the naval blockade on Iran.
The agreement is scheduled to be formally signed in Switzerland next Friday.
