New York, June 11 (SANA)   Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Kabawat met with Finnish Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Security Policy Outi Holopainen to discuss ways of strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 19th session of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, currently being held at United Nations headquarters in New York.

According to a statement posted Thursday by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor on its Telegram channel, the talks focused on cooperation in peacebuilding, capacity-building, and the social inclusion of women and persons with disabilities.

The discussions were held within the framework of the conference, which brings together states parties to the convention to review issues related to the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities.

The conference opened on Tuesday and concludes on Thursday under the theme: “The Convention at 20: Celebrating Achievements, Consolidating Progress, and Shaping the Future of Implementation in a Changing World.”
