Regional Capitals, June 10 (SANA) Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain announced heightened security and air defense measures on Wednesday after Iran launched missile and drone attacks across the region, amid escalating tensions following U.S. strikes inside Iran.
The Jordanian military said its air defense systems intercepted and shot down five missiles launched from Iran toward the Azraq area in Zarqa Governorate.
A source at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces said the interception operation resulted in the fall of debris, but no casualties or material damage were reported. Specialized engineering teams were dispatched to secure the area and remove the remnants.
The military said it had raised its readiness level and was closely monitoring regional developments to protect the country’s airspace, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In Kuwait, the General Staff of the Armed Forces said air defense systems had responded to hostile aerial targets in accordance with approved operational plans.
In a statement posted on X, the military urged the public to follow official safety instructions and rely on authorized sources for information.
Iranian media reported that Iranian forces had carried out a drone attack targeting a U.S. military base in Kuwait.
Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior announced that warning sirens had been activated across the kingdom following reports that Iran had targeted a U.S. military base on Bahraini territory.
“Warning sirens have been activated. Citizens and residents are urged to remain calm, proceed to the nearest safe location and follow official channels for updates,” the ministry said in a statement posted on X.

Earlier on Wednesday, the U.S. military announced the completion of what it described as a series of defensive strikes against sites inside Iran, following the downing of a U.S. Apache military helicopter on Tuesday.
The developments mark a further escalation in regional tensions as military exchanges between the United States and Iran expand beyond their borders and prompt heightened security measures across several Gulf states.
