Cairo, June 1 (SANA) Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed regional and international developments during a telephone call on Sunday, including efforts to ease tensions in the Middle East and support regional stability.
According to presidential spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, the two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and exchanged views on a range of regional issues, reaffirming the importance of continued coordination between Egypt and France on matters related to security and stability.
El-Sisi highlighted Egypt’s diplomatic efforts to support a comprehensive agreement between the United States and Iran aimed at reducing tensions and preventing further escalation in the region. He also reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to international law and respect for state sovereignty.
The two leaders discussed developments related to the Palestinian issue and the situation in Lebanon, while France expressed support for initiatives aimed at advancing political solutions and preserving regional stability.
Macron praised Egypt’s diplomatic role in addressing regional challenges and stressed the importance of maintaining freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s key maritime trade routes.
The call reflects ongoing coordination between Cairo and Paris on Middle East and Mediterranean affairs, as both countries continue consultations on regional security and diplomatic efforts to contain tensions.
