Doha, June 1 (SANA) Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani discussed with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah efforts to support Pakistan‘s mediation between the United States and Iran during a telephone call on Sunday, according to the Qatar News Agency (QNA).
The two officials discussed ways to coordinate backing for the mediation effort as part of broader diplomatic initiatives aimed at reducing tensions and promoting stability in the region.
QNA said Al Thani stressed the importance of all parties engaging with the ongoing mediation efforts and pursuing dialogue to address the underlying issues between Washington and Tehran.
He said continued diplomatic engagement could help pave the way for a lasting agreement and reduce the risk of renewed escalation.
The two ministers also reviewed bilateral relations and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between Qatar and Kuwait across a range of sectors.
The talks come amid ongoing regional and international efforts to support negotiations between the United States and Iran and prevent a further deterioration of security conditions in the Gulf region.
Pakistan has recently played an active role in facilitating contacts between the United States and Iran, supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions and advancing negotiations on issues including Iran’s nuclear program, sanctions and maritime security.
