Beirut, May 18 (SANA) Three people were killed Monday in an Israeli airstrike targeting the Tyre district in southern Lebanon, according to the Lebanese National News Agency.
The agency said the strike targeted the town of Jwayya in the Tyre district, resulting in the deaths of three people.
On Sunday, Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health announced that the death toll from Israeli attacks on Lebanon since March 2 had risen to 2,988.
The latest casualties come days after the U.S. Department of State announced a 45-day extension of the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel.
Tensions have remained high along the Lebanese-Israeli border despite ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at maintaining the ceasefire agreement.
