Occupied Jerusalem, May 13 (SANA) A Palestinian child was killed, several others were injured and a number of Palestinians were arrested Wednesday during Israeli military raids and settler attacks across several areas of the occupied West Bank.
Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that settlers, under the protection of Israeli forces, entered the villages of Sinjil, Jaljaliya and Abwein north of Ramallah and opened fire, killing a child and injuring five Palestinians.
Residents’ homes were attacked during the raids, while agricultural equipment and more than 700 head of livestock were reportedly stolen.
Israeli forces also raided eastern Nablus, deploying across several areas and taking positions on rooftops ahead of the entry of more than 5,000 settlers, including Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and members of the Knesset, to Joseph’s Tomb. Several checkpoints surrounding the city were closed during the operation.
Settlers wrote racist slogans on the wall of a secondary school in the area, while Israeli forces arrested a Palestinian from his home in the Khallat al-Amud neighborhood in Nablus, according to WAFA
In separate raids, Israeli forces entered the towns of Bruqin in Salfit, Deir Ibzi’ near Ramallah, Dura in Hebron, Iktaba in Tulkarm and al-Eizariya near Jerusalem, arresting four Palestinians, including a 16-year-old.
Israeli troops also raided a school in Silat al-Dhahr, south of Jenin, and removed the Palestinian flag.
The Palestinian Ministry of Education said the incident constituted a serious violation that threatens the safety of students and educational staff and undermines the right to education.
Separately, WAFA reported Tuesday that a Palestinian was killed by Israeli fire in the town of al-Ram, north of occupied Jerusalem.
Israeli forces and settlers continue raids, arrests and land-clearing operations across various parts of the occupied West Bank.
