Occupied Jerusalem, May 7 (SANA) The death toll from Israel’s military offensive on the Gaza Strip since October 2023 has risen to 72,628, while 172,520 people have been wounded, Palestinian health authorities said Thursday.
The Palestinian Health Ministry, cited by WAFA news agency, said Gaza hospitals received nine bodies and 39 wounded people over the past 24 hours. The ministry added that 846 people have been killed and 2,418 wounded since the collapse of the Oct. 10 ceasefire.
Rescue workers said many victims remain trapped under rubble and in areas inaccessible to ambulance crews.
Separately, two Palestinians died Wednesday from wounds sustained in earlier Israeli strikes on northern and central Gaza.
